Datawake Values & Code of Conduct

Mission

Datawake exists to equip nonprofits, educators, public sector teams, and social entrepreneurs with thoughtful Salesforce solutions that are sustainable, scalable, and aligned to real outcomes.

Values

Client Empowerment

You are the owner and architect of your Salesforce implementation. Datawake is your guide and technical partner. We listen first, learn your mission, and enable you with the context needed to make the best possible decisions.

Transparency

We are clear about scope, estimates, and pricing. We document our work so decisions and tradeoffs are easy to understand later.

Long Term Partnership

Salesforce programs grow over time. We focus on foundations, maintainable patterns, and the next set of challenges rather than reworking the same problems.

Social Impact Pledge

Datawake participates in a one percent pledge model for time, services, and profit in support of philanthropic efforts.

Grit

Complex programs require persistence. We bring steady effort, clear communication, and follow through until the job is complete.

Build Trust and Credibility

Our success depends on the trust of our team, clients, and partners. We earn credibility by meeting commitments, acting with integrity, and achieving goals through honorable conduct.

Before taking action, ask these questions:

  • Will this build trust and credibility for Datawake
  • Will this help create a working environment where Datawake can thrive over the long term
  • Is this a commitment I can keep

Respect for the Individual

Everyone deserves to work in an environment of dignity and respect. Datawake is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and abusive or offensive behavior. Concerns should be raised with a manager or with People Operations.

All team members support an inclusive workplace by:

  • Treating others with dignity and respect at all times
  • Addressing and reporting inappropriate behavior and comments
  • Encouraging teamwork and the representation of different perspectives
  • Seeking insights from colleagues with different experiences and backgrounds
  • Avoiding slang or idioms that may not translate across cultures
  • Supporting flexible arrangements where reasonable
  • Challenging decisions or behaviors influenced by bias
  • Listening with an open mind to constructive feedback

Create a Culture of Open and Honest Communication

Everyone should feel safe raising questions, especially about ethics. Managers foster an open environment where concerns are welcomed. Datawake investigates reports of questionable conduct and takes appropriate action. Retaliation for raising concerns in good faith is not tolerated.

Whistleblower channel:

  • Start with your manager or People Operations when possible
  • If that is not comfortable or suitable, contact the Leadership Team directly

Set the Tone at the Top

Leaders model the behavior expected across the company. They address ethics questions promptly and treat concerns as essential business communication, not as challenges to authority.

Uphold the Law

Integrity begins with compliance. Know the policies and regulations that apply to your role. If you are unsure whether an action is permitted, seek guidance from the appropriate subject matter expert. Speak up about potential violations.

Competition

We compete fairly. We sell Datawake services based on merit, quality, suitability, and value. We make independent pricing and marketing decisions and do not coordinate with competitors. We do not offer or solicit improper payments. We do not participate in unlawful boycotts.

Proprietary Information

We respect the rights of others. We do not seek competitors’ trade secrets through improper means. We do not use, copy, distribute, or alter software or other intellectual property without authorization.

Selective Disclosure

We do not selectively disclose material nonpublic information about Datawake, our clients, or partners. Take care that presentations and proposals do not include material nonpublic information.

Health and Safety

Datawake is committed to a healthy and safe work environment. Refer to our safety guidance and ask People Operations if you need access to the latest materials.

Avoid Conflicts of Interest

Avoid relationships or activities that impair or appear to impair objective decision making. Advance the legitimate interests of Datawake when the opportunity arises. Do not use company information or property for personal gain.

Conflicts can arise in situations such as:

  • Employment or consulting with a competitor, supplier, or contractor while working at Datawake
  • Hiring or supervising family members or closely related persons
  • Serving as a board member for an outside commercial organization
  • Owning or holding a substantial interest in a competitor, supplier, or contractor
  • Having a personal financial interest in a Datawake transaction
  • Placing business with a firm owned or controlled by a Datawake team member or their family
  • Accepting gifts or favors from customers, competitors, or suppliers that could influence decisions

When in doubt, seek review from your manager or People Operations before proceeding.

Gifts, Gratuities, and Business Courtesies

We compete on the merit of our services. Avoid actions that could create the perception of an unfair advantage.

Accepting Business Courtesies

Occasional meals, refreshments, or entertainment shared with a business contact can be acceptable if they are modest, infrequent, and do not create an appearance of influence. If you would be uncomfortable disclosing the courtesy to your manager, decline the offer.

Gifts

Unsolicited noncash gifts of nominal value can be acceptable such as flowers or small promotional items. Cash or cash equivalents are not permitted. Tangible gifts with a market value greater than 300 dollars require management approval.

Offering Business Courtesies

Never offer a courtesy that could reasonably be seen as an attempt to gain an unfair advantage. All courtesies must comply with law and recipient policies and must be recorded properly in company books. Special rules apply to government customers.

Set Metrics and Report Results Accurately

Accurate Public Disclosures

Disclosures and public communications must be full, fair, accurate, timely, and understandable. Inform leadership and People Operations if you learn that a filing or public statement was inaccurate or incomplete.

Corporate Recordkeeping

Company records are created, retained, and disposed of in the normal course of business and in accordance with policies and legal requirements. Records must be true, accurate, and complete. Do not improperly influence audits or auditors.

Promote Substance Over Form

Doing the right thing can require more than the minimum legal standard. Use Datawake guiding principles when the answer is not explicit.

Accountability

Each team member is responsible for knowing and following the values and standards in this Code and for asking questions when unsure. Concerns about compliance should be raised with People Operations. Violations may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Be Loyal

Confidential and Proprietary Information

Protect confidential company information and nonpublic information entrusted by employees, clients, and partners. Examples include pricing, financial data, customer lists, and vendor information. Do not disclose without a valid business purpose and proper authorization.

Use of Company Resources

Company resources are for business use. Occasional personal use is fine if it does not affect performance or disrupt the workplace. Use good judgment to conserve resources. Datawake may monitor use of company systems to protect the interests of the company and our employees. Do not use company resources to create, access, store, or send materials that are harassing, threatening, abusive, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate.

Media Inquiries

To ensure accurate and consistent communications, direct media inquiries to the Leadership Team. Do not issue press releases without prior approval from the Leadership Team.

Do the Right Thing

Use these questions to evaluate difficult situations:

  • Does this align with Datawake values, this Code, and company policies
  • Have I been asked to misrepresent information or skip a required step
  • Would I be comfortable explaining this choice in a team meeting
  • How would this look as a headline
  • Am I honoring my responsibilities to clients, colleagues, and company
  • Is this the right thing to do
